Teen Therapy
Some teens have minor issues and just need a little assistance to get back on their feet and back on track. Whereas others have more serious issues such as teenage depression, anger, substance abuse, and many more challenges that leave them feeling lost and confused and require more significant interventions. Some teens go to counseling to prevent problems from occurring in the future and some come to solve current problems or heal from past wounds.
During this time of transition the teen may experience a myriad of changes affecting their bodies and brains as well as their relationships with peers, parents, siblings, authority, and themselves. Their ways of connecting with others begins to change and the connections they make internally suddenly shift in ways not seen or noticed before. This is a profound period of transition that has far reaching implications and can leave both the teen and parent lost or confused about which step to take next.
Navigating these choices and decisions during adolescent can be more than daunting. Their moods may change like the weather, as if to come from out of the blue and their ability to see the long term effects of their choices may be challenged by changes going on in their adolescent brains. Connections between parent and teen become strained to the point of extreme disconnection and frustration. Or the adolescent may be numb or depressed, leaving the parent to worry about their teen's safety.
